Welcome to Cosmic Cranium Press

Cosmic Cranium Press delivers electrifying literature to audiences craving razor-sharp books. Cultural distortion is the thing—the Press honors a tradition that traces its roots from the Dadaists, the Surrealists, Situationists, Beatniks, Hippies & Punk Rockers. Specifically, we are looking for garage-punk solutions to problems most don’t know exist. The Press is also interested in smart, well-researched ideas that linger on the societal brink, as well as writing that dazzles weirdly. With these concepts in mind, Cosmic Cranium Press aims to reinvigorate reading, one book at a time.

About :

“Canada Is Not the 51st F**king State” is an anthology of essays, interviews, stories and artwork by an assortment of contributors resisting Donald Trump’s aggression against Canada. Trump’s 51st state rhetoric came as a shock to Canadians—and to many worldwide. His threats are no joke. This convicted felon’s attempt to choke us out economically stands—for the moment—as his preferred means of conquering Canada, his hostility and contempt for us scowling in plain sight. The contributors to this book demonstrate that we are not now—not ever—going to become a part of the United States. A variety of perspectives, including those of an Indigenous artist, a retired soldier, a doctor and others, show that we excel in areas of humanity in which the United States lags behind. Our worthiness stands on its own merits, Trump-led belligerence be damned. “Canada Is Not the 51st F**king State” aims to embolden Canadians to use all cultural and political resources to withstand Trump’s onslaught of aggression.

Dreams can be disturbing: our nightmares are vicious, shocking, and sleazy - words often used to deride punk rock. Yet, from humanity’s first dream - now long lost to the eons - our night visions have given us a key to an alternate reality. Punk has offered us a similar perspective. Several decades ago, punk rock burst onto the music scene in a shockwave, freaking out established interests. The vision and power of punk-rock was undeniable and, just like our worst dreams, the nightmare of punk-rock cannot be fully suppressed. Even the proverbial “sweet dream” can reveal paths to personal fulfillment. With so much psychic energy at play, powerful interests have tried to control our dreams over the centuries: seers, priests, philosophers, psychoanalysts and political fanatics. Dream-Punk: A Nightscape maps dream politics while tracking the author’s five-year photo-log of night visions as a garage-punk, do-it-yourself means of taking our dreams back from establishment parasites who aim at siphoning their power. Punk rock in theory, method and content, Dream-Punk is a stunning conceptual and visual book, unlike any other.
